Would I have to pump the extra water out of my washer when moving if so how to do it? « Power Pressure Washer — Find and buy power pressure washers here.

I have a Maytag Performa(Model Number: PAV3240AWW) and I am moving in a couple of days. I won’t be using this washer for a while so I am putting it away when I move. I don’t want to leave water in it. Will there be extra water in it when I unplug it? If so, how would I get this water out? I was reading somewhere that you would have to siphon the water out.

Where would I stick the siphon in? Would I put it in the drain hose?

Thank you

If I am thinking correctly my mother has this same model. The drain hose is actually built in with this model so you would have to drain it. There is a few ways.

1.) Siphon- The tube I believe is 4 feet long so you would have to have a thin siphon tube which would go inside the drain hose.

2.) Tip it- You can place the size on "oversize" and give it a spin. Now this won’t empty out everything so now you would have to tip it. Make sure you have a pot or some towels(rags) to pick up the excess that comes out.

If you have any more questions, you can shoot me an email and I will be glad to give you some more advice if needed.

-Make sure you have someone to help you when tipping; the last thing you need is to a washer to fall on you.

I would run it empty on the spin cycle, then take the drain hose and lay it on the floor.
Then tip it up, and put a brick under it to help drain the remaining out.
I would leave the top open to thoroughly dry also.
